Anyone who has witnessed their live shows will have been blown away by their skills behind the decks. Their production skills are very impressive too. Birdy Nam Nam is a French Hip hop crew made up of Crazy-B, Pone, Need and Lil Mike 1. They shot to fame in 2002 winning the DMC team championship. The music that can be found on this CD was recorded between July and December of 2003. The idea is manipulating vinyl and using the turntable as a musical instrument (similar to what D-Styles, Ricky Rucker and Mike Boo were doing with their band Gunkhole). VERY jazzy, laid back smokey beats. The additional DVD that comes with this package is 90 minutes in length and contains a band introduction, live performances, pictures and bonus features. Highly Recommended!

WOW this is a nice package!!! Jazz Liberatorz made a classic on their first LP 'Clin d'Oeil, but they released a hell of a lot of 12"s and recorded plenty more prior to that. Here we have the works of the last six years, which includes previously unreleased 'Mountain sunlight' with Mos Def and further collaborations with Dudley Perkins aka Declaime, Fat Lip (ex-Pharcyde), T-Love, Aloe Blacc, Wildchild and remixes from Dela and the Drum Brothers. 26 tracks in all - great stuff!

Another MASSIVE double A side single from the Jazz Liberatorz as they seem to be releasing all tracks from their album 'Clin D'oeil' on vinyl 12". Sadat X and Lizz Fields are on vocal duty here. There are always lots of nice treats on these 12"s too - instrumentals of both 'The return' and 'Speak the language', an unheard track 'Five years of labor' with Lizz Fields and an also previously unheard instrumental track '6th borrow'. Very highly recommended!
