Barrington Levy
Shine Eye Gal
Absolute essential classic Barrington Levy tune from the mid-eighties that every serious reggae collector needs to own on 7" 45. Jah Guidance give you the chance to own this piece of reggae history. Been covered a few times but nothing comes close to this original piece. Essential.

Earth Wind and Fire
Shining Star/ Keep Your Head To The Sky
Super cosmic disco & soul 12 from 1975. "Shining Star" is almost p-funk in its groove, with the expansive EW&F orchestration and vocal arrangements, excellent for the dancefloor. "Keep Your Head To The Sky" is a softer, more soulful track that really moves in its arrangement. Two excellent and sometimes overlooked sides from EW&F on nice heavy 12 press.

Jurassic 5
Feeback
NOW ON DOUBLE VINYL!!! Album number 4 from the politically minded good time rap crew from LA who are now firmly established in the upper stratospheres of the Hip Hop world. Feedback is a transition album of sorts in that the funk based rhythmic style that first found them fame is represented on tracks such as Nu Mark produced In the House and Future Sound alongside radio friendly Scott Storch and Salaam Remi produced pieces. The real treat though is the future underground sound that shines through thanks to Baby with beats courtesy of next big thing Exile and the laid back piano lilt Where We At featuring Mos Def.

Guilty Simpson and Dilla bring the weight on the brooding Clap Your Hands much in the vein of Jungle Love from The Shining LP. Take it Back sees Madlib step up to the mic reuniting the Jaylib team and delivering a psychedelic west cost groove for the head nodders.

The Beauty Room
The Beauty Room
Electronic chameleon Kirk Degiorgio reinvents himself once more with the latest project the live group The Beauty Room. Part Zero7 part Heritage Orhcestra this album shining quality are the vocal from Degiogios conspirator Jinadu. The Beauty Room is an altogether folky affair but should appeal to the more open minded electronic music lover and fans of old fashioned quality song writing.

Verb T and Harry love
Bring it back to basics
At last a full length album from one of the UKs finest Hip Hop producers in partnership with a shining young star of the future MC Verb T. Harry Love has suffered a little from not releasing as much music as he might have over his lengthy career. But with muse Verb T in tow an album has poured out of him it seems. The pairs talents are a perfect match for each other as Verbs thoughtful well constructed rhymes sit on top of Harrys rich and heavy smoked out beat blends. I am sure we will see this partnership bear more Hip Hop fruit in the coming years and the UK scene is a better place for it.
