Guymon Ensley is a renowned trumpeter from Los Angeles and here he links up with Bernard Gibson, a superb lead vocalist, and together they cook up some magical and uptempo jazz with real soul. 'Makeup Lovin' is a real stepper, with big drum hits and some superb synths and nimble fingers running up and down the keys. It's joyous, with a retro flavour and musicality to spare.
